Booking a performer — start to finish

The full flow from search to settled payment.

The 5 steps

  1. Find someone. Browse /organizer/performers or land on a performer's Book Me page (/<slug>/book) via QR or shared link. Use filters: performance type, style tags, location, availability scope.
  2. Send the request. Click Request Booking. Pick an event you've already created (or create one inline), fill in the date, time, performance type, fee. Submit.
  3. Performer responds. They can accept, request a modification (fee, date, travel arrangement, deposit %), or decline. You'll get an email and an in-app notification at each step.
  4. Sign the contract. Once they've accepted, sign the contract from the booking page. The performer signs too — order doesn't matter. Once both signatures land, the deposit auto-charges to your saved bank.
  5. Remainder + event day. The remainder charges automatically ~5 business days before the event. After the event finishes, leave a review.

What auto-charges actually do

  • Deposit (50% by default) charges within seconds of both signatures landing. This is the moment money moves — make sure your bank is connected first.
  • Remainder (the other 50%) charges 5 business days before the event. If you need to move it, do so before that window.
  • Both run on ACH — there's no credit card option.

If something goes wrong

  • Performer doesn't respond → the request expires (or you cancel it).
  • You change your mind before signing → cancel from the booking page, no charge fires.
  • After signing but before the event → use Cancel (admin policy may apply) or Request Modification to adjust.
  • Performer no-shows → admin can apply a no-show fee + refund/restitution from the post-event page.
