Reviews, badges, and how ranking works

What changes your search position — and what you can actually influence.

How performers are ranked in search

Organizers see results sorted by a composite ranking score. The score combines several signals — most are earned, not bought:

  • Reviews (the biggest lever): 5★ avg adds +10%, 4★ adds +5%, 3★ is neutral, 2★ subtracts 10%, 1★ subtracts 20%.
  • Badges: each active badge contributes +2.5%. There are 8 — Fast Responder, 5+/10+/25+/50+/100+ Bookings, Internationally Booked, Frequently Rebooked.
  • Tier: Featured (Pro) adds +15%, Exclusive (VIP) adds +10%. These are subscription tiers — admins set them.
  • Response time: how fast you respond to booking requests feeds the Fast Responder badge.
  • Availability scope match: when an organizer searches Local but your scope is Worldwide, you're still shown but de-prioritized.

Reviews

After every completed booking, both sides have 30 days to leave a review. The review becomes visible once the other party also submits OR after 30 days — whichever first. This prevents tit-for-tat retaliation.

Reviews are visible on your public /<slug>/reviews page once published.

Badges

Most badges are awarded automatically based on completed bookings, response times, and international travel events. They unlock as you cross thresholds — 5 completed bookings unlocks 5+ Bookings, etc. Admin can override (very rarely) for edge cases.

What you can do

  • Respond fast. The Fast Responder badge is one of the easier ones to keep.
  • Ask for reviews. A quick post-event message reminding the organizer to leave one nudges your average up over time.
  • Keep your profile complete. Incomplete profiles are filtered out of search entirely — you can't rank from outside the lineup.
  • Set the widest honest availability scope you accept.
